In less than a decade, the Saline Celtic Festival has emerged
as one of the Midwest’s premier ethnic fairs. Until recently,
the event’s organizers relied mainly on volunteer efforts
from non-professionals for graphic design. But as annual attendance
approached the 10,000 mark, it became clear the event would need
to upgrade its graphic ID.
In our logo design for the festival,
we aimed to stay true to traditional Celtic motifs, while not lapsing
into easy cliché. We chose
a bright color scheme suggesting Celtic stained glass, rather than
the usual dominant earth tones. We’ve since helped the festival
apply the new logo to all manner of promotions – posters,
banners, ads, pins, shirts, and more.
