Great Gatsby Regatta Poster

“Boats Against the Current…”
Our design of the poster for the Great Gatsby Regatta, a fundraising event benefiting the Saline High School crew team, won a Silver ADDY Award from the Ann Arbor Ad Club in the local 2010 ADDY competition.

Designer Samantha Sevick created an illustration in an Art Deco style and paired it with a font reminiscent of poster design from that era to fit the event’s 1920s theme. Copies of the poster sold for $25 each at the event. Samantha was on hand to sign the posters for buyers. Purchases of the posters were among the many ways the event raised funds for the crew team.

The first annual Great Gatsby Regatta, attended by approximately 150 people, occurred on the evening of August 25, 2009 on the grounds surrounding DesignHub’s offices in the historic Hoyt-Ford commercial buildings on the banks of the Saline River.
